It's great that you've used a very abundant form of waste. Just one small leak in a hose can render the entire product useless thus leading to a large amount of garbage. The woven star like shape on the seat surface was a real attention grabber for me however I do feel that the hoses used for the body lack the aesthetic qualities to form a chair. Maybe there's a more suitable use for them somewhere else inside or outside of the home.
I agree with Sam about the point of a very abundant material that is useless when broken slightly. My question is that if the hoses that you use have these defects how will you counter that when you pump water into them?
I do agree with what you said about the feet at the bottom of the base, like you said i think the whole design overall they could have been done without.
I do like the sort of backrest of the elongated hoses. Good design lucy.
This is great. Being made out of garden hoses this seat would be perfect for outdoor use [because hoses are outdoors items anyway]. I think the external appearance is not exactly ideal when the seat itself is such an intricate woven star pattern. I'm also wondering how structurally stable the backrest is.
This is quite a clever product and a great use of the material available. As I wasn't able to test the product I would question if the chair was able to support someone, especially seeing how the hoses are used along the outside. That's just my initial reaction, I'm sure you factored that and it can actually hold someone. My only other criticism is the adhesive used to join the hoses. It looks a little messy. But other than those minor discrepancies I think this product was a success.
Good work Luce, using hoses is an entirely original concept and obviously is a good use of a material that is easily wasted. As Nance said this would be perfect for outdoors and also maybe for smaller adults/children due to the weight limits on the hoses. Well done!
Such a creative and innovative idea... wouldnt have thought cut up hoses would have made a chair like this! although the only criticism i have is you could have used different gardening accessories to add the upcycling of the product. all in all product was successful!
